Assemble Emergency Supplies
Have at least 3 days of supplies on-hand for every member of your household (pets, too!). Check and update your kit twice a year when you change your clocks for daylight savings time. In case you have to leave quickly, make a grab bag with essential items for your home, work, and car.
Basic Emergency Supply Items
Some basic items to keep stocked in your home include:
- Water – 1 gallon per person, per day
- Food (non-perishable)
- NOAA Weather Radio & batteries
- Flashlight & batteries
- First aid supplies
- Whistle
- Local maps
- Moist towelettes, garbage bags, ties
- Cash
- Games & activities for kids
- Copies of insurance, bank accounts, ID, and other important documents
- COVID-19 protections like face coverings, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes
Additional Items to Consider
Add additional items to your emergency supplies according to you and your family’s unique needs:
- Prescription medication
- Glasses/contacts
- Infant formula/diapers
- Food/water/supplies for your pet
- Personal hygiene items
- Sleeping bag
- Paper/pencil
