In short- The Aftermath is more activities, more growth, and MORE FUN! Best of all- these activities are FREE to those who attended the summer camp.

Mentoring & Volunteer
We’ll be pairing up Aftermath participants with a mentor so they can learn about a specific field or career track. You’ll also have the opportunity to serve your community through volunteering with the Office of Emergency Management!

|Dress for Disaster Success (info)||Donations and volunteers are a huge part of disaster recovery. You’ll learn how to help after a major disaster, and what items should (and should not!) be donated- like clothing! We’ll take a look at professional clothing as well. |9/11 Day of Service (info)||In remembrance of 9/11, we’ll be giving back to our community. Join us in serving the homeless population in Arlington with A-SPAN by sorting clothes, prepping meals, and organizing other materials. |Escape Room Challenge! (info)||Refine your critical thinking skills, teamwork, and creativity by joining us for a day at Escape Room Arlington! |Social Media Super Hero (info)||Chances are you use social media to connect with your friends, but did you know it can also help save lives during emergencies? Learn more about social media, how you can responsibly use it and how it helps in times of emergencies and disasters. We’ll provide hands-on demonstrations of social media tools and how you can use them to influence readiness, response, rescue and recovery in your own community. |Cookies and Crafts (info)||Paracord Bracelets are the friendship bracelets of Emergency Preparedness. We’ll also make Emergency Scented Candles and Dog Toys. |Mental Health and Stress Management During a Crisis||We’ll be learning ways to increase mental health awareness, manage stress and practice team building skills in order to be best-equipped working as individuals and in teams during a crisis. You’ll learn new skills to be prepared to help out–whether it’s a natural disaster, school stressor, or other big events or during your day-to-day lives.
